Yin Yang Yoga Retreat

The Priory, Ware, Hertfordshire

Sunday 25th June we ran our 2nd Lotus Health Space Yoga Retreat at the stunning location of The Priory, Ware, Hertfordshire.

The yoga retreat was another sell out event with lots of new faces; some new to yoga as well as some seasoned yogis, all coming together on the mat where experience does not matter.

We started the day with a welcome refreshing "James White British Organic Vegetable Juice" (carrot or beetroot) to refresh the palate and quench the thirst before we started the first yoga class of the day.

The first class was a 75 minute vinyasa flow yoga class. This was our "yang' part of the day where we flowed, connected movement with breath, built some fire and heat, before finishing the class with a guided meditation and well deserved savasana (relaxation).

After the first yoga class, the guests enjoyed some healthy treats. The treats included "choc & berry bars" and "zesty nut balls". Both are gluten free, dairy free, packed with goodness and delicious to boot! The recipe for the "choc & berry bar" is on the LHS blog page. We served these on our last retreat, but to keep them fresh and exciting, the goji berries were replaced with cranberry berries, which were also an absolute hit! The recipe for the "zesty nut balls" will be posted this week, so watch this space!

The guests then enjoyed a presentation discussing "how to live mindfully and create life balance". In the talk we gave really simple tips to help live in the present moment and the profound health benefits this has on your overall health and wellbeing. Keep an eye on the blog as we will continue to share some of these simple yet effective tips!

The day was rounded off with an energy restoring 75 minute yin yoga class (focusing on the kidney urinary bladder meridians) and yoga nidra to send the guests off feeling completely in balance, relaxed, at ease and calm!

The next retreat with a new focus once again, will be held in September. Details will be released shortly, along with an early bird price so keep an eye out to avoid missing out!

I'd like to pay a big thank you to the beautiful guests for bringing such positive energy to the day and making it such a pleasure to teach and host!

I will leave you with this wonderful quote from Buddha who sums up the message of the day beautifully....

"The secret of health for both mind and body is not to mourn the past, worry about the future or to anticipate troubles, but to live in the present moment".

Namaste x
